The 2025 Blazer EV SS, the fastest SS model Chevrolet has ever developed, will pace the 67th Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, February 16th, 2025. The Blazer EV SS is slated to go on sale later this quarter, and it's equipped with Wide Open Watts (WOW), a system that produces 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque and rockets this amazing vehicle from zero to 60 mph in a mere 3.4 seconds. Remarkably enough, the Chevy pace car to be used in the Daytona 500 is a production vehicle with no special performance upgrades. It features custom graphics and embedded strobe lighting for a more dynamic appearance.
Special features on the 2025 Blazer EV SS
The Blazer EV SS comes with front Brembo brakes, a sport-tuned chassis, a best-in-class 17.7-inch-diagonal color touchscreen, standard Super Cruise driver assistance tech and would provide an EPA-estimated 303 miles of driving range. This event is the first time a Chevy Blazer has paced the Daytona 500, known as “The Great American Race.” It's also the first time an EV has set the pace for this renowned race and the 16th time Chevrolet has led the Daytona 500 field.
The Blazer EV.R NASCAR prototype gets launched before the Daytona 500
Chevrolet will debut its Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype ahead of the Daytona 500. The prototype is a joint effort between NASCAR and OEM partners, with a mission to explore new and emerging automotive technologies. Chevrolet will also pace the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck races at Daytona International Speedway that weekend. The new Corvette Stingray will be the pace car for the Xfinity series United Rentals 300 on Saturday, February 15th. The Chevy Silverado RST will be the pace car for the Craftsman Truck Series Fresh From Florida 250 on Friday, February 14th.
