H & H CHEVROLET
THE STORY OF H & H CHEVROLET
H&H Chevrolet, a cherished Chevy dealership in Shippensburg, has a history as rich and unique as the city itself. The exact date of our inception in 1932 remains shrouded in a bit of mystery, although it adds to the allure of our enduring automotive institution. Our distinctive building, featuring vintage church windows, is a nod to our past as it stands proudly on a site that once housed a barn.
The barn, unfortunately, succumbed to the forces of nature and had to be dismantled. However, its solid foundation remained intact and provided us with the perfect platform for our local Chevy dealership building. The past and present now harmoniously blend together in this space, reminding us of our roots while propelling us into the future.

FAMILY-RUN THROUGH PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE
Our story truly began even before we became H&H Chevrolet. The dealership was originally known as Hollar's Garage in the mid-1920s and was located in downtown Shippensburg. This was the brainchild of Frank Hollar Senior and his son Frank Hollar Junior. After completing his law studies, Frank Hollar Jr. teamed up with his father to breathe new life into their business venture and thus H&H Chevrolet was born.
As we grew, so did our offerings. The year 1936 marked an exciting period in our history when we added Oldsmobile to our lineup. We didn't stop there -- by 1949, Cadillac models also graced our showroom floors. Then in 1989, we expanded our range further by including Pontiac and Geo vehicles.
With time came change in leadership as well but the family tradition continued. In 1987, Mickey Nye stepped up as the fourth generation from the family to helm the dealership, ensuring that H&H Chevrolet remained a family-run business that stays true to its founding values while adapting to the evolving automotive industry.
The passage of time has only cemented our commitment to provide excellent local auto service and quality new and used vehicles for sale to the people of Shippensburg. We invite you to be part of our history and discover why at H&H Chevrolet, "We got whatever moves you!" since 1932.
